Sustainability

We want you to experience Lusatia on your plate and in your glass – with produce from local farms and artisan producers. Our kitchen works closely with regional partners and a community-supported agriculture scheme.

• We see ourselves as a sustainable hotel situated next to Fürst-Pückler-Park in Bad Muskau and make a conscious effort to use regional produce and minimise transport distances.
• We source fresh and smoked fish from Fischzucht Rietschen GmbH for our seasonal cuisine.
• We serve cakes and tarts from the Höfchen bakery and also bake our own cakes for the breakfast buffet
• We use eggs from PROHAV Halbendorf mbH & Co. Landwirtschafts KG and other local farms in the region.
• We are members of the Rainkost Obermühle Görlitz community-supported agriculture scheme and use their vegetables, salads, herbs and heirloom varieties.
• We source cheese from the Pusak goat farm, ice cream from GRUNERS, and also make our own ice cream.
• We offer regional drinks: water from Bad Liebenwerda, regional juices, beer from the Landskron Brewery in Görlitz and other breweries, as well as lemonades from Lichtenauer.
• We serve wines from Saxony, for example from the Wolfshügel Winery and Schloss Proschwitz, along with whisky from the Spreewald and pineapple liqueur from Fürst-Pückler-Park.
• We uphold typical Lusatian and Pückler traditions with Fürst-Pückler ice cream, orange and pineapple cakes, menus based on Pückler’s cookbooks, as well as a weekly Upper Lusatian menu and a Pückler menu as part of our half-board package.
• We offer regional confectionery from FELICITAS – the ‘chocolate side of Lusatia’ – to our guests.
• We use brine and peat from the region as traditional remedies and incorporate them into our wellness facilities and physiotherapy treatments.
• We highlight our regional identity throughout the hotel: with event notices, menu boards, information in the lobby, Upper Lusatian holiday magazines and park maps in the rooms.
• We work closely with the Fürst-Pückler-Park Foundation and organise park tours, exhibition visits, participation in events such as the Winter Stage, Winter Light Festival or Castle Christmas, as well as carriage rides with local providers.

We use energy, water and materials carefully and have been gradually improving our processes over the years. Many small everyday actions help us to conserve resources and reduce waste.

We’ll help you travel here stress-free by train, electric car or bicycle, and explore the area around Fürst-Pückler-Park in an environmentally friendly way. To this end, we offer suitable services and practical information on site.

• We welcome guests who travel sustainably and encourage environmentally friendly journeys to our property and local transport options.
• On request, we’ll collect our guests free of charge from Weißwasser railway station so they can travel comfortably by train.
• We provide an electric vehicle charging point right next to the house, where our guests can charge their electric cars overnight.
• We offer a secure storage room for bicycles and e-bikes and provide information on service and repair facilities in the local area.
• We have information and maps available for popular cycle routes, such as the Oder-Neisse Cycle Route, the Frosch Cycle Route and other tours in the region.
• We provide all guests with a walking map of Fürst-Pückler Park so that they can explore the park and the paths around the hotel on foot.

We make it easy for you to eat mindfully without sacrificing enjoyment. Many of our dishes are vegetarian or vegan – made with regional ingredients and a wide range of plant-based alternatives.

• In our restaurant, we deliberately focus on vegetarian dishes, many of which can also be ordered as vegan options or are vegan from the outset.
• We offer a range of plant-based milk alternatives – both at breakfast and with coffee or tea.
• We aim for our cuisine to combine culinary pleasure, health consciousness and climate protection, thereby reflecting our profile as a sustainable cultural and wellness hotel.
